Summary Of Deathwatch Chapters

Rainbow [News] A Tindaya laps

Everywhere there are special places, full of history, full of magic, which is generally not known beyond their immediate environs. Tindaya Mountain is one of them, but unfortunately in recent times has started to become famous for reasons beyond its real importance.

The island of Fuerteventura is not particularly steep, and Esmeralda, with its 400 meters high, stands in the landscape as a signal that fills the eye.

Aborigines considered holy, and, as in many other mountains across the world, found there a place where human and divine were intertwined. In the surrounding hillsides and there are multiple traces of life and spirituality of the nice, and its summit are a lot of rock carvings in the shape of feet.

Fuerteventura Even after it was conquered and its inhabitants survivors mingle with new people and adopt their customs and religion, remained Tindaya special and magical, even overwhelming for those who approached her, and during long was called "the mountain of witches."
Its ecological value, archaeological, and spiritual is recognized by all the inhabitants of the archipelago, and still has much to teach us about our biodiversity and our history.

And yet, two dangers threaten Tindaya, each in its own way.

one hand, the mountain is composed largely of trachyte , a stone prized for ornamental purposes and, for that matter, also very expensive. One would think that operating a quarry in a place, natural monument of cultural interest, would not be allowed, but the reality is that the trachyte is really, extremely expensive, and when dealing with such amounts of money, there are people that the word "valuable" begins to sound otherwise.

And then, on the other side ... Chillida came . In one of his inspirations as an artist, was determined to create a monumental sculpture, titanic, "a mountain stripped of its interior space to go into it, a tribute to the smallness that unites all men." He sought the ideal location where to carry out his dream, dismissed many places and eventually chose Tindaya. Esmeralda, the sacred mountain, Esmeralda, Magic Mountain, Esmeralda, whose status beauty and history shine on their own, without the need for support for the ideas or "art" of anyone.

Empty "so high a mountain of historical, cultural and natural? What folly! But wait ... "Clear a mountain that you can then charge admission and whose" debris "can sell for millions of euros? No need to tell you that some eyes were made Chiribitos.

Eighteen years ago the issue of Tindaya monument was raised for the first time. Many interests, money and influences came together in this project. Many critical voices against him. There were complaints, reports, corruption and red tape, protests and scandals. The mountain was reluctant to be raped, to become a soulless shell used for the benefit of a few. Chillida died in 2002, and although the defenders insisted the work be carried out, it seemed that without the support of his mentor, would not go forward. It seemed that at last Tindaya would be in peace, untouched, rising against the sky as the monument itself has always been.

And then, yesterday, I read this at home: Reborn
the sacred mountain of Chillida
After 18 years of controversy, a meeting between the family and the Canary Islands government to float the project Tindaya

The politicking and interests we look only expected to go elsewhere to do business. But I do not sing they still win. Tindaya mountain has its own spirit, its own strength. Do not be surprised that, even if they think get what you crave, the result is very different from what they expected.
